Instead of commending him for ending on of humanity’s GREATEST scars, you chastise him for not fixing ALL of humanity’s problems? That’s a cheap way to discredit a very kind action.īecause here’s my thing. In fact, you having the audacity to call it “embarrassingly small” is a pretty strong indicator of how biased you feel about the issue. I’d like to believe most morally just people would. “Extremely selfish choice” to end/remove one of the worlds largest and most depressing events? I don’t know chief, I’m sure there’s a whole race of people who might disagree. My main gripe is that it’s unnecessarily harsh and presented in an almost haughty and arrogant manner. It’s extremely bias, so much so that one could mistake you for a bigot and they might have a strong case considering the severe tone of your said critique. I’m not sure if it’s that you lack empathy or if it’s just simply something deeper than that, but none of what you said is even remotely good critique on the basis that it isn’t fair critique.
Truth is I’m struggling to find the words to tell you how bad you’ve missed the mark and simply don’t understand. That just doesn't seem like the Jax Briggs that we have known for all these years that has been a strong caring figure and mentor. It's frankly a ridiculous ending in terms of writing that should only highlight both how narrowminded Jax' perception of human suffering is but also how little he seems to care about humans prior to african slavery. But Jax is really just given the power to change reality and history and what decides to do with it, is change reality and history for specifically african slavery situation but leave out all the other suffering - and then - despite not being omnipotent, simply concludes that everyone is now happy. There is so much hilarious child-level writing going into the scope of this ending and how narrow it is. Makes sense, until you simply start questioning - why did he stop there? Why was any of the disasters before it, human suffering asian chain slavery etc, wars and conflicts over ressources, diseases etc. On the grounds you present it seems harmless, until you realize that Jax, an educated man with years of experience in law enforcement and working in a team with multiple diverse groups, felt the need to be extremely selfish in his choice of changing time and reality for everyone - With an embarrasingly small scope, he targets the obvious thing - slavery.
